Got pulled over coming down cajone pass 6% in CA. I was doing 54. limit is 45 for about 5 miles. then opens up to 55 again. He wrote me up on the ticket as 50+ in 45. The cop even said he normally wouldn't give a ticket for than speed but there has been a few to many tractor trailer Crashes recently in that area so they are handing out more tickets. Is it worth it to hire a lawyer to fight it? Don't mind a fine. I just want my record clean. I've never gotten a ticket before been driving 6 years.
Worth it to hire lawyer for speeding ticket?

If you're constantly in that area, I wouldn't bother as you can appear and contest yourself.
For my drivers I have a TVC program. They each got bad tickets and it was worth it getting it for them. Contact Lavonna and see your cost/benefit and decide for yourself.

If you want a review of what they did, one driver got a ticket for reckless driving in VA (took pictures with his phone of a rolled over truck with cops nearby. moron right?), 6 points on his license which means instant suspension. They got a guy to handle it and appear in place of my driver and he got it reduced to some defective equipment ticket that was like $150 or 190...and no points more importantly.
He also got a log book violation and that's in the works, court is next friday. :/
The other guy it was not worth it but I only found out after already making him a member. I just paid his cheap ticket online and charged him.Last edited by a moderator: Oct 12, 2016

You got lucky.
I got a 55 in a 35 on cajone. And unless they took the signs down. It's 55, quickly 45, quickly 35.
The ticket was $450 plus lawyer fee, he got it dropped to log book violation. My first Logbook ever. But it never appeared on record.NavigatorWife and 123456 Thank this. -

It seems like half the time if you show up in court the cop won't even show up. I got a ticket for doing 70 in a 75 on a solid sheet of ice on the Oklahoma Turnpike. I flew right past the cop in the Hammer Lane who was doing 45 with his four ways flashing and I showed up in court and they threw it out because the cop never showed up
