What is the proper diameter fuel line hose that needs to be used between the ECM plate and the fuel tank? -

Will be interesting to see if I gain any additional boost after I can get rid of the fuel restrictions. -
My old International didn't have a lot of engine monitoring gauges.Had a manual resetable vacuum indicator under the hood for the air cleaner.Had a pyrometer,(piston/exhaust temp),and the boost gauge.Whenever the boost,(and performance) started lacking, usually meant a load of bad fuel.Boost would fall to 30psi or less, just mean't the engine wasn't getting fuel, hence not spinning the turbo up to make boost.Change fuel filter, problems solved. In 45 years of trucking,my N-14 Celect was by far the best, most trouble free money making engine I ever owned.Sold it when I retired, had never been apart.

Im not a cummins guy but ive heard those ecm cooling plates are notorious for getting plugged up on those n14s.
Also for fuel line feed i like #-12. But im sure -10 would suffice.wore out and BoxCarKidd Thank this. -
I haven't yet checked the ECM plate to see if that is contributing.
If the plate is clogged up how do you get it cleaned out? -
Not sure if they just replace the cooling plate or clean them.
All i know is it seems to be a common issue on those n14s.
Maybe just bypass it for a day and see if it makes a diffrence.?
Im sure now that weather is cooled off now should be able to do that just to tryBoxCarKidd Thanks this. -
Have seen guys run them by-passed for years.
Get some extra hoses. Connect the outlet to a hot water pressure washer. Hard piped without tip. Flush with soap, rinse, flush with fuel, reconnect.
Oh: I mean they must be replaced.cumminskid123 and swaan Thank this. -
Have my ECM cooler plate removed and there are chunks of plastic inside, like drill bit tailings. That's just the stuff I can see looking in the fuel inlet hole.
Hoping the flush brings a massive improvement. -
Did the flush, installed new lines and a Davco 382 pre-filter. Filter vacuum #'s dropped to 7LBS from 10 at idle. Jumps to about 13 (in the red) when the engine is revved, spikes to over 15 after you let off the pedal while revving.
The cooler plate seemed to be free of restrictions after the flush but who knows.
Anybody have a part # for the cooler plate and the check valve?
