Hey Robert, I remember you from Mercer! We pulled a load of Styrofoam from Denver to SLC a few weeks back... You recommended these guys and I'm now leased to them also. Do you remember jacking up your trailer at Sapp's that morning?

I put your name on my application, but I didn't know a truck number to give them so I'm not sure if you get the recruiting credit for suggesting them. But I'm leased on, just going to pick up a trailer later this week and start working out of Missouri after that.

Are you liking them so far? Their load board is slim pickin's in Arizona for now, but I think you said you were moving to Tennessee where it looks to be a lot better.

Nice yeah, same over here. I'm truck 6683, maybe I will catch you out there sometime. I am still shopping for a trailer, probably have to run to St. Louis or Sioux Falls to get a used aluminum stepdeck this week. I can't find any used dropdecks any closer than that for a good price...

Anyway hope all is well, congrats on the house..

I'm based in Canada. 15 yrs in the business and am so sick of the kindergarten manner carriers treat the small businessmen. O/O's deserve the respect that advocates the financial risk we have entered into. The biggest thing that pis##s me off starts right at the daily check calls and just follows the downhill slide from there. The first carrier I contacted to was a startup by two established businessmen from the food industry with no experience whatsoever in trucking. They realized right off the bat that owner operators had significant financial investments in their units and treated them as such. They had a destination to arrive at and a date to be there and if for whatever reason they were going to be delayed and the call was not made that required explanation. There were three day runs from central Canada to California initially of Mainframe computer systems that went to Palo Alto. Trailers were dropped there as the mainframes were unloaded over the following day and the casings were placed back on the truck. There were no daily check calls and the attitude of all the drivers was simply excellent. Over the years Unisys systems ceased manufacturing mainframes there and they migrated two hauling Canada pork to California and California produce back to the major Canadian Grocers. Everyone was paid well and it was a marvelous place to work with probably one of the best drives Scenic wise that is available. When the owners sold the company and a 100 year-old gigantic Fleet carrier bought them they basically raped it as $.25/mile walked out the door and it fell apart. The rest of the story is complex and very sad as everyone left. I've never been happier in this industry and am about to embark on a switch to Admiral Merchant. Hoping for the best and will let you all know down the road. Cheers!

    RERM Thanks this.

I asked this over in the flatbed area, and I know this is an old thread, but does admiral merchants require a headache rack on your Truck to lease on?

    Thank ya for the info.

I think he didn't want to have to redo his airlines and light box on his stainless cat walk. He keeps all his chains and tiedown equipment in his trailer boxes.
