For the 1st time since I hired on, I have netted an $1100+/wk paycheck... (slightly less after I put my food allowance on my prepaid card). Still haven't hit $50k for the year (including my sign on bonus payouts thus far). By the time I had quit Poly last year, I had already topped $54k.(and the 1 year anniversary of that event is next week) So, while things have improved lately, I have some catching up to do.

Hope it works out for you SSB. I will have my anniversary in 34 days and I've done better than you have, and with your experience, I'm SURE you can drive rings around me.

@Winnyf1 told me shortly after I started that it was all about knowing Magnum's freight-lanes and customers and managing the dispatchers and it's been very good advice. I just hammered out 68 hours in 7 days and then recap for 500ish a day, then Ashley wanted to know if 430 miles would be ok on recap, or would I rather take a 34.

I took it and Nick's sending me to Texas tomorrow, again on recap, with basically 1200 miles over 2 1/4 days. Think i'm gonna take a 34 in Ft. Worth.

I have had bad weeks and bad months when I first started, but I've done pretty well here. Sounds like you're finally figuring out the Magnum weirdness, so hopefully you'll be doing a lot better.

I DO think that the second year will beat the heck out of the 1st. And for me, the 1st was pretty decent.

Hope your wife is doing well.

So for everyone who hates NJ, (which includes me) Seafrigo in Elizabeth, NJ is pretty awesome.

Loaded there for the second time, nice miles and a fairly tight schedule, just like last time.

If you can schedule your take-off time at night, you have ZERO scales for hundreds of miles. They aren't going to load you over 80k, so just take off and scale in PA, adjust as necessary.

The local scale is a nightmare.

Not my favorite place by far, but you can park there as long as you want and it's usually decent miles outta there. And if you're tight and mention it, (politely) they are pretty good about getting you loaded in under an hour.

The wife is doing ok, but she still has a lot of swelling and fluid building up...I think the problem is, she can't or won't ease up. Thru all of the injury, surgery and rehab, she never missed one day at her market...If she died, I think her body would automatically set up and be there every week.

As for my 2nd year, I doubt it will be better because, even though my miles are improved...and my attitude has too...I still have a lot of issues with the company (and one of their major customers) that drive me insane. So sometime after the new year, when our out of pocket expenses on our insurance resets...I will most likely make good on my threat to say goodbye. While I am much less unhappy now than a few months ago, I can't see myself being a long term Magnumite.

Whatever works for you man,I wish you the best, as always. If I had a better gig, I'd be there too. And best to your wife. That's called FORTITUDE. And few, anymore, have it.

Ever since they put the CoPilot on my Peoplenet...it has been sluggish, my digital nag stutters when she reads someone's message, my wireless keyboard can't keep up, and now this pic... I wonder if there is a way to turn off the navigation without calling Bryce..

If I was in BRF's, I'd be downtown at the Cozy Corner.
All the food is deep fried there

Wait, what? GPS on the peoplenet?

I HATE. HATE-HATE-HATE. Did I mention HATE? Typing on the peoplenet keyboard. It either clicks and doesn't put the character up, or double-types characters ALL. THE. TIME. I don't remember Qualcomm being like that.
