Can't believe an ad I saw while thumbing thru a free book filled mostly with over priced headaches (in the blue box, at the truckstop near you), has landed me here and made me want to sign up just to reply to what I have read. I know there are crooked companies out here that need to have their doors closed. Honestly, I too ended up here because of being interested in maybe taking a truck to Jones in the near future. But sadly "and I know this is the new normal out here", I end up reading among some of the very helpful information, a lot of panty waist cry babies who have one bad experience and then cry they got screwed. This is an O/O company, in the trucking industry. If you want a guarantee of nothing but roses in this industry, follow these steps closely!

    1. Park truck
    2. Get out of said truck
    3. Throw keys as far as you can
    4. Run the other dirrection
    5. Enjoy not having anything go wrong

Seriously though, welcome to the world of being a trucker. Things can, and will go wrong. End of the road? Thats your choice.

That all being said.... I am new here, this is my first post. Been around this industry since I was sitting in the jump seat of my dads '56 Diamond T. Grew up loving the trucks and the people driving them. And knowing there was nothing else I was gonna do when it was my turn. Same as a lot of us out here. Just think of what we went from, to what we have out here now... enough to make a preacher cuss!

Last time I talked to one of their Hot Shot drivers 15+ years ago, they talked like they were doing just fine and liked it there. I know things have changed a lot since then out here. I just was curious to what they had to offer after seeing their ad in the back pages of the truck paper, and if they had an age limit on the tractors. I am doing ok, doing what I am doing now, but my curiousness sometimes borderlines stupidity. So I searched for Jones on internet (next time will just call) and below 3rd listing down was this site with a headline saying "Beware". So of coarse like an idot I click on it, just to find people crying because they found out its not always easy. I have gained and/or lost everything with this life on the road. And honestly have read nothing here that makes me think they are a bad place to take your truck, as long as you are willing to put the effort into your buisness. After looking at this whole site, I see I have been missing out on nothing (internet wise) but a bunch of people who want to call themselves truckers, but are to busy complaining how they are getting screwed. And think those of us saying anything else, are waisting our time. Just like out on the road, they don't want to hear us and anyone from the "old school" are past our time. Kinda sad we lost the brotherhood we had, and now is rare when we run into each other out here. Sorry I keep writing mile long messages. New to this social thing, and guess I have more to say than I knew I did.

Was considering leasing my truck on with Jones cause I heard they were a good company but about 90% of the comments are negative ones so I won't be taking a chance

I spoke with a O/O with them this morning. He said he really enjoys it there and the pay is fine. They have multiple options on several different things. He told me his worst week after expenses and taxes and it's what I make as a company driver. He moved from SNI as an IC and said he likes it better at Jones. But, he did say one has to work to make money, so there's that.

I was leased on to them a few years ago. Leased on to the flatbed division, was kept in the van division. At the time they didn't have a lot of van drivers in northern Ohio. Bubba was my terminal manager. He knew I wanted to pull a flat. He never told me the company wanted to keep me with a van. At the time I had over 10 years pulling a flat hauling everything from steel to oversize loads. I felt the company should have been honest with me instead of giving me false reasons to keep pulling a van. I liked the way the company is set up. I liked they let you choose your own freight from various load boards. But in Ohio you can make good money with flatbed and get good home time. With a van I had to stay out longer than I planed.
