    That's an old school trick.
When you got way more trucks than freight to pull
Just add on a day delivery to all the loads and don't
    Let the driver deliver early.
Saves thousands a week on layover pay.
Strarves drivers out, so they'll quit and they
    Don't have to pay unemployment.

Been thru that with JB hunt in the early 2000's.
700 mile loads with 3 days to deliver.
They get us from every angle.

    HalpinUout and TennMan Thank this.

    No, it's not like this.
Problem with team is there's no loads.
I just deadheaded from Columbus to Nashville for a load.
I would never have the need to deadhead hundreds of miles for a load on the solo board.
It's a weekly thing on the team side, sometimes multiple times per week.
Most messed up part is I'm deadheading out of great freight areas.

I went through it too with JB. I guess the only difference is I did collect unemployment. That was with deadheading home from Atlanta to louisville and shoving the keys under the door along with a "shove it" love letter!

The way it works is the charity arm of SNI asked for donations nd matched whatever was given by all employees - driving, shop, and office. So half that 1700 came from your fellow employees, the rest from Schneider.

As a company we've some bad and a lot of mediocrity but a fair amount of good as well.

It honestly sounds like the better place to be. I know plenty of Landstsr drivers and they do just fine. One even does as far as sharing his numbers with me in case I want to get back in the O/O game.

Frankly after already been through Choice along with running my own truck for 4 years prior to Choice it appears the novelty is gone.

Yep as freightwipper keeps saying money ca still be made...but boy do you guys go through a LOT of aggravation to get your money. And when you have a problem you can't talk to the person directly that solves your problem cause they shield you from the box planners and customer service.

So what if you have to deal with a broker at Landstar. At least you can negotiate and you aren't competing with company trucks for freight. Hell...you can even get detention pay in under 6 hours!!

    Yeah go to Landstarve!
Instead of competing with company trucks you'll be competing with agents with their own trucks lol.

Here's one such quote whipping the scoop and there's many more out there.

Gotta love all these Schneider ICs that keep complaining they're not making any money and there's only cheap freight here, they post this over and over again AND YET THEY STAY HERE!
    lmao!
If there's no money to be made why stay? There's many carriers out there you could lease your truck onto.
So I call BS, when all you guys leave then there will be some credibility there.
Just seems like some here seem have an agenda to scare away drivers.
Screw it, you know what Schneider sucks and Landstar is awesome soo all you should leave. I'll take care of all the cheap freight here when you go. Got it covered! ;) lol
Real deal for me is when/if I can't make my income goals then i am out of here buddy!
Yes the freight market sucks, yes it's more difficult here now as pretty much everywhere but lets not get carried away.
For anyone interested yes Schneider withholds loads from us and yes they make up whatever rate they want for God knows how many loads here. It's all a big game and either you figure it out and adjust or fail.

Our complaining is no different than yours.

You say you had to deadhead out of a good freight area but you didn't deadhead out of a good team freight area.

You've got to get solo out of your head and business model. Your a team IC now. I'd love solo coast to coast freight but I know it's not here so I'm not complaining daily about it not being available.

You nor I can have it both ways.
