The best part is how the threads just get derailed naturally, like how that hand held thread ended up going over to that Jenifer Aniston/ Helena Christensen compare contrast.

We were talking about (not to get back on subject or anything) RDP today at work, because we only have limited cursory knowledge of them and basically what RDP Food Service is today, is what GFS was 29-30-35 years ago only they serve a different market and have a different niche. For a small company RDP has 4 drop yards Indianapolis, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Cinncinati I mean there truck fleet if I had to guess is probably 40-50 trucks it can't be much more then that figure 4 trailers and a straight truck at every yard.

For a small time food distributor they cover an awful lot of ground and have some fairly big nice accounts. Zeppe's Pizza used to be a Sysco Cleveland account and now RDP has them, also I guess they do East of Chicago Pizza as well, so they have a few big fish. Like I said there small, but keep your eyes on these guys, because every year they might grow little by little. One of our transit drivers at work said the RDP brand name was established in 2001. Which would almost make sense while the DePaulo's have been around a lot longer I think the actual RDP food service has only been around 20 or so years so 2001 probably isn't to far off.

I did ask if RDP was the old Sysco Columbus, and the answer to that was no. As John Deere said Sysco Columbus was Abbot Foods and some other companies and at any rate Sysco Columbus is dead and gone now. They split the territory between Sysco Cleveland and Sysco Cincinnati. Which probably is a strategic advantage to these smaller regional companies like RDP and Haserot who both have actual warehouses in Columbus, which works well for RDP if a customer needs something the sales people can run to the warehouse and go get it. Which is why there customers say they like them, because they are local and right on time.

@Mike2633 Where is the drop yard in Pittsburgh? Inquiring minds...

I too have "limited cursory knowledge", evidently.
