Been in this business 30 yrs and a bad dac report is not the end of your career. Abandonment will not keep you from getting another job either. A lot of good companies out there that don't use dac. Many that do but only worry about safety issues. To many drivers worry about their dac just like to many pepole worry about their fico score. Don't fall into the hype folks.

Would you be so kind as to list some by name that will hire after a driver does this?

So if I send this carrier an email and ask them if they will hire a driver with truck/load abandonment they will say yes?

It's not something you mention, zippy.
It'd be like me saying 'yes, I was arrested for assault' (true) 'but wasn't convicted' (also true). Why would I say anything? Eesh....

I agree with not "offering up" the information, but do not hide it if directly asked. If you do, it raises questions about your work ethic.

It seems like the don't ask, don't tell theory....

There is a serious fallacy in these boards and other websites about DAC/hireright. This company is only a company that stores information reported to them by the various company's out there. In the case of a trucker it is just a tool that makes it easier to make hiring decisions. However just because a company does not use DAC/hireright don't mean the history is not out there and discoverable. Remember as a CDL holder you are supposed to list a 10 year driving history. If you report quitting even if said company don't use DAC/Hireright there is nothing preventing them from sending a fax and asking for more info from the last company.

Trucking is a heavily regulated industry. If you can get a job with a good company with a truck/load abandonment on your record in this environment all power to you. It's no skin off my nose.
