If one were to get a 1 year medical card due to high blood pressure what's the procedure for returning to a 2 year medical card? This is a question about returning to a 2 year card, not a question about BP. Thanks.
Going from 1 yr Medical to a 2 year Medical card?

I would think it would involve going back to the doctor you got the medical card from and getting re-examined.

You have to be off your blood pressure meds.

If you go in and your BP is normal. I don't think there's any grounds to NOT give you 2 years.
But who knows with all the new regulations these days.
I get mine done before i light up the first smoke in the morning. Otherwise i'm screwed.ChicagoJohn Thanks this. -

I believe once you get a one year card, you must get it in writing from your doctor that your blood pressure is under control without the need for medication. That then needs to be submitted with the paperwork on your next Physical. The best thing to do is say no, when they ask you if your on any medication for blood pressure. They have no idea what your on, but once you tell them you get a one year card.

I have a 1 yr card, asked the DOT Doc. what I need to do to get a 2yr card, said my BP has to be under control without meds for 6 mos. with a written statement from my family Dr.. Since I'm also diabetic, it doesn't matter.
