In Wyoming the rule is that you only have to stop at Ports of Entry if you see a big white sign saying "commercial vehicles must stop". The green sign is just informational. I have never been to Laramie but travel I-90 a lot and you have to stop in Sundance only if going East, Gillette you only have to stop if on a non interstate road, and Sheridan you have to stop in both directions. Basically if you see a big white sign saying you have to stop, then stop (unless prepass bypasses you). Also don't freak out when you are given a yellow light to come in. 99 percent of the time they just want to see your IFTA license and truck registration.

There is no PRE PASS at the Laramie scale.
You must stop if you're heading north on US 287.
If going south, you only stop if it says stop (which is probably every 3rd blue moon).
If on I-80, you don't stop in either direction

as plainly marked as the weigh station signs are that point the way as well, I don't recall the colors of signs at the moment. there a few that are a mile so off route with signs and no prepass.

the one in Casper is about a mile off I-25, most trucks I see in there are perrlmit loads, I've seen some of locals get off at same exit only to move on without stopping. I'm not local. I stop in,

I ummm drove by thinking maybe I should stop and passed two wyoming highway patrol right after. That was heading south on 287 towards Fort Collins. I probably should have stopped.

Only stop if you somehow entered the state without passing one yet.

yes, if you want to stop, don't stop, if you do, do it, they probably know what's going on before and after you get there anyway.
