You all definitely got options others did not. Even after questioning, and I started the process about the time you all were picking up. Like stated I was offered eithe Fitz rebuild with some aftermarket parts or a Clarke rebuild with stock parts.
As much trouble as you all are having I would have to start questioning maint practices or drivers. I have heard of a few problems but nothing like you all are experiencing.
    Something don't jive.

We run a 60 truck fleet. The majority are Cummins ISX. We have a number of high mileage 2007s and 2009s left with 1+ million miles on them that give us less trouble than these Detroits. We do our own rebuilds on these ISXs when the time comes. These Detroits do not get used any differently than our Cummins. Same runs, same maintenance, same drivers.

We aren't the only company up here having these problems. I cannot speak for them but I will say they are both done even considering these trucks. One is going with PACCAR MXs instead. They're having fewer problems with those at this point.

Yes sir you are correct fitz does rebuild detriots in they're shop and puts on better turbo and manifolds and said they are closer to 525hp also my old boss had 5 of them with very little problems.Only things was two Jake solenoids and one injector both fitz picked up the tab and let us do it in house and motors pulled good put plenty of cats and Cummins to shame on hills and got 8.2mpg in summer and 7.6avg in winter so in my experience fitz is a good outfit.

My engine is a factory rebuilt by detroit . it has all the plant codes and detroit reman stickers on the engine with a specific Factory engine serial number. But any warranty i use im referred to Detroit authorized dealers including Clarke which is the source Fitz refers you to for all engine warranties. my truck is a 16 blows blue white smoke 6 new injectors still blowing smoke. However Fitz informs me they have none of my issues to any of there own in house motors. All the smoke issues have Factory Remans from Detroit as far as there aware of. Im hoping to get this resolved soon

When i got my truck it smelled funny I assumed it would go away after breakin . I personnally thought it was gaskets etc breaking in for an engine with 56 mi on it. But as weather got colder issue reared its ugly head and the smell i was smelling turned out to be smoke out the exhaust. truck runs great i get 8 mpg but cold start is bad . i can fill a truck stop with blue smoke in minutes. I got the factory reman from detroit. not the Fitz engine

My former boss just got a new glider with a reman Detroit. After 2 trips to Florida it's in the shop for head issues and the rear end is leaking oil plus an oil leak somewhere on the engine.

It's probably because the cylinder head was also reman.
