TNDT70/80 are now both available for the RM Launcher Update. Swipe down on the upper left to see if the update is showing. You will have to be connected to a Hot Spot.

If you got this update within the last few days, then you should be good to go.

    Added

Go to Apps/Settings/Apps - You should see RM Launcher on the right... version 2.28.5-truck_20160909

    Thanks,

In some testing here on the tablets. If you are doing your updates you should get them in this order - RM Services, RM Launcher, Truck GPS, and then maps. The Maps will be the only one (4 files) that will not pop up an install screen.

If you get RM Services, Truck GPS, then RM Launcher you may get an error saying the package did not parse. If you get this contact me.

    Thanks,
    Mark

So a buddy of mine works at a recycling company. They get RM devices time to time. He said they have to strip some pretty good looking tablets. There were a few labeled TND T80B It has both Back and Front cameras.
Only one turned on, but looked like a normal T80. Thats the only physical change he seen. Kinda a shame they have to trash it.
Found no info about it anywhere. We're thinking it may be some project model that they are doing. Maybe a future update? Why would Truckers need a front camera though? If I wanted to take a selfie, I still have my phone.

Don't tell me RM is getting into the gimmick territory.

I believe you have posted about this before. What he gets out of Richmond for recycling is intended to be recycled, not fixed and sold again.

Nobody is fixing or selling anything. Screens and batteries have to be stripped during the recycling process.
Units turn on at times due to still having charge, those are the first priority as they can be more dangerous than uncharged batteries.

I'm just curious what that model T80B was, as the T80 is nice with the dash cam and android sytem.
Wondering if it is, or if it's going to be, a new model and would it be worth waiting for to upgrade?
Or...was that one a secret project?

If it was a "Secret Project" it would not have been in the scrape pile. The "B" is nothing more than the 2nd version of the TNDT80.

Charged batteries are not as dangerous as uncharged ones. The "uncharged" ones still have a charge, but not enough to turn the tablets on.

I do believe one of the recyclers has been selling units that "seem" to work. It has been posted here before in this thread.

Well, didn't mean, that kind of secret lol. Strangely different recyclers believe the batteries different ways.
Some don't want to take them at all, some want you to leave it in the device, some want you to remove them, some say make sure they are charged some say uncharged.

I'll give em a heads up that one of the goofies may be stealing.

So would you recommend waiting till the second version is released before getting a Tablet?
I do like my latest and greatest. The reviews I've seen on the T80's make em look awesome.
I'm just curious now, with that front camera, and since they are android based....would support face skype chat with family when at a stop? That would be amazing seeing wife and kids on the 8" screen instead of my 5" phone.
