I-10 a cluster in Mobile. Alabama

I go through there 3-4 times a week. Be through after lunch tomorrow. But year around 7 or 8 am and 4-5 pm it's nuts over there around the tunnel.

 

Fog has been really bad on Tuesday and Wednesday nights and early morning, Wednesday morning was the worst going across the Bay, probably 100' visibility at best. At one point on Tuesday night outside Pensacola I could only see one lane divider strip at a time going 35 mph, The southeast doesn't have dangerous snow or ice but it make up for it with dangerous fog and heavy rain.

 

I'm getting on here late but I'm from there. If you think it was bad in December you should try eastbound through the tunnel on Fridays and Saturdays during the summer. It can get backed up 3 and 4 exits before the tunnel at times.

 

Glad I made it through there Tuesday morning without much fuss then.

 

Here in the south it's very foggy. We just have or are in between storm lines to make that much fog. It's pretty foggy in Arkansas tonight. Plenty of rain has passed through to the east. There is more fixing to show up later tonight.

Ive been watching the situation on the weather for about a week since the Euro and GFS models suggested the possibility of a ice storm for the south. I don't think we will get that ice storm tonight. It will be rain.

Regarding Mobile... it's really crazy down there, Biloxi I think in particular. The big crossing over the river. The only one that matters. The tunnel too. If you can plan to get through late at night say 2 am or say 1PM between the morning and afternoon rush, you should be ok. I rather go through at 2 am.

The way this nation has become traffic wise, night running is the one true way of getting through.

 

The I-10 Mississippi River Bridge in Baton Rouge is what gives me the fits.
