Broke Down 69...The Adventure Continues

Hey broke down you did not put your current company that you work for in the title but it's posted in favorite company section. Just curious?

Yesterday I loaded lumber. Prime flatbedder was there before me. I docked my van while he was being loaded. They loaded him up and started on me. I was done in 15 minutes, closed the doors and drove past the Primer driver who still unrolling his tarps onto the load outside in freezing cold temps.

in general flatbeding = sadomasochism today . but there is one exception. some stepdeck-flatbedders make very good money by hauling army equipment.

 

Just don't haul stuff that can also go in a van and your income almost doubles.

 

Army rates are in the toilet who told you the rates were great

 

HA! You got that right! Thought it would improve when Menlo got their wrist slapped, but no........

 

I saw a rate confirmation showing $2200 from las vegas to herlong, ca . that was in October this year

 

Not sure about the army, but all the airforce and navy loads I've done in the last 6 months have paid a lot better than they were. Not "we're going to war and need this stuff moved so let's throw stupid money around" good, but a big improvement over the last few years qhen menlo cut the rates so bad.
