A driver I was running with raised a trooper on ch. 9 by Big Savage. The MD troopers I see have some pretty big antennas so I'd assume at least some monitor. Ohio has the same Ch.9 signs. I've never had to try it though.

I know one for that does who sits around the 865/65 split in Indianapolis. You can say hi and he'll respond if you're not out of his short range already. He jokes about his cheap setup. Sits up there just waiting for trucks in the far left lane when it turns to three.

Ohio has a sign like that too when you cross in from IN on the toll road. It's not an old looking sign though.

I've had many conversations with troops on 19. From getting drunks off the road to just BS about speeding and bear traps. Not all do but many state troopers do in various states.

    I have talked to many.
I was headed north on 55 and saw on the frontage road, southbound side, where a van went off the road and hit a tree. People were getting the driver out and starting CPR. I met the trooper a few miles down the road and hollered on 19 to see if he was headed there. He said yes. Told him what I saw and ems not on scene. He asked if there was an exit just past or not advised there was and he went on down the road.

Yep. In my neck of the woods not sure if all do, but there is one in particular La Trooper who monitors 19. Got behind me one day and as I pulled off to a safe location a few hands started joking with me and I said a few choice words. Trooper didn't say word. When I went back to sign inspection sheet when he was done I hear all the big mouths still going at it. Suffice to say I didn't utter one word whilst I signed my death certificate.
