Everyone says that. But prime as all brand new trucks. Warranties cover anything major up to like 500k miles. From what I've seen its pretty hard to screw up. You can save 10k easy in the first several months for anything that might happen later on down the road. And you get a fuel advance every load so no need to save up for that. AND even if something did go wrong prime will advance yiubthe money and you just pay them back little by little for your settlements. From what I've seen on my trainers truck who's only been driving for like a year total. 6 months with kllm and 6 months with prime you can make money if you run the truck right. Like getting to drop off a early and not sleeping in.

I seen this happen way to much when I worked at prime , a trainer finds a good driver and they give them this big story about how they can make more money if they sTay on their truck . But really it's the trainer that is going to keep making big money while he pays his trainee pennies on the dollar.
Prime is going to bump you up to full pay as soon as you get your own truck wich I believe is still 43 cpm he is paying you less than half that

Please do not get into training only for the money, like your trainer seems to be.

I despise the guys we have that are like that.

The extra money IS deserved, and is nice. But......you have to have a higher calling than that, or you will be miserable.

There can be a lot more satisfaction gained from helping change people's lives & teaching them right, than just the money. Remember.....we also have lives at stake out here.

Get out of there & stick company for 6-12 months to gain more experience & bank that safety money. While you do that, run that truck on paper as if it was your own, all the accounting. THAT will tell you in black & white, without any doubt, if you can make it work. Then, decide whether to lease or stay company. You'll have a much better basis for that decision, rather than just thinking of potentially imaginary "big bucks".

If you can't do it on paper, you surely will not be able to do it for real.

Good luck to you. You paid your dues & sucked it up. Time to fly, little bird!

But his trainer is banking up front on a lease. My point is you have to know the business and you have a ways to go. You aren't even on your own yet.

Dude common. Everyone does it for the money... Now that don't mean I have to be a shirty trainer.

I appreciate the advice but what am I getting wrong? The only thing you need to know is where to fuel up the get the most for your money and how to drive to get the best mpg. Prime finds you the loads and takes everything out of the settlement. Only thing you do is pay your taxes at the end of year. Taxes and write offs are the hardest part in my opinion. Yeah you can turn down loads thst are "unprofitable" but from what I've seen is prime takes care of you. My trainer never turned down any loads and made great money.

Now I don't want to sound like a know it all but please tell me if I'm missing something. I really do appriciate the advance.

You need to know a lot more than that. It's a crude business and will eat you alive. But hey you have it down now have at it. Wait you gotta handle getting off your trainers truck first. Just saying you have no clue of all involved.

This is truth since I don't know you. The company is paid to make it sound all nice and too good to be true.

Just trying to help but I see your mind is made up. Just go and get your own authority.
