I will pass only going 1 mph faster. The courteous thing to do is back of a lititle if you are going slower. If not, oh well.
It might take 5 miles to pass but I'm not gonna try and match your speed and ride behind you for hundreds of miles.

Wrong, the courteous thing to do is not to even try passing if you dont have the power to pass quick fast in a hurry. People who pass 1 mile per hour faster are what I call Princess Passers who expect everyone to bow down so they can get in front.

Obviously I can get in front if im passing, right? You call it what you want. But if you're slower than me, I'm passing. I don't expect you to do anything.
If you don't want to slow down, no sweat off my back.

Let me ask you this, I see this a lot--

I'm going the exact speed limit and here comes Princess Johnny Passer going 1 mile over the speed limit. All of a sudden he's next to me looking over at me all butthurt that I didn't slow down for him. Why should I? I'm already going the legal speed limit. What makes this Princess Passer so important that the speed limit #1 doesn't apply to them and #2 that others trying to get down the road legally should slow down?

Maybe he's just ignorant? But you having names for people passing......Maybe some of the problem is you? Maybe he's not really looking at you butthurt. Maybe it's you that's butthurt? I'm asking that for real. Because there are people that don't like to be passed either and are butthurt when people do so.

As long as the person isn't being reckless, why does it bother you that someone is going over the speed limit?

People need to pick a speed and stick with it and worry about themselves.....unless someone is being reckless.

I personally will drive 5 over the speed limit....no more. My tractor is limited to 68 mph. So if the speed limit is 65 or more, I have the hammer down. Some drivers have a problem getting passed and will speed up when I pass them. Only for me to catch back up to them because they really don't want to drive my speed.
Don't be that guy. It's annoying and unprofessional. Drive how you feel comfortable and not be dictated by other drivers around you, unless it's defensive. Offensive driving is for idiot 4 wheelers.

It might be that he's going the legal speed limit as measured by GPS and you think you are going the legal speed limit according to your speedometer, but you are in fact 1 mph slower than the speed limit.

Then there's the whole thing about ascribing bad motives on someone that is passing you. In fact, according to your commentary in the video you posted earlier, YOU are the one getting all worked up about having to be safe and courteous and you are the one creating the rolling roadblock by not backing out of your cruise control speed early enough to make an efficient pass for the faster truck.

I slow down frequently each day to allow someone to pass me. It really isn't a big deal. I feel absolutely no need to think about the other driver as a "Princess Passer" or any other derogatory term. None.

Get over yourself. Do the job. Keep the road flowing and safe.

No I don't speed up to passblock but I don't slow down either. What i hate is that guy (don't be that guy please) who struggles to pass for 5 miles then eases on over anyway 1 foot in front of my bumper forcing me to slow down from the legal speed limit so this Princess Passer can take the very next exit 2 miles up the road.

Sooo.... why didn't you slow down earlier in the pass so the trucker could come on over with plenty of room safely and efficiently?

Because you're a professional who values their space perhaps.
