Gaming for truckers

It was really good. But not that good. Baldurs Gate easily beats it. Along with quite a few others.

But I'll give ya one thing, it's the best Japanese console rpg for sure.

 

I loved it when it came out, but man it does not hold up well at all. I tried to replay it a couple years ago and just couldn't do it.

 

Yeah, the graphics were amazing for 1997. I remember spending about 13 hours on a Saturday breeding the Gold Chocobo so I could get the Knights of the Round materia. I only used it on Sepiroth , I never beat Emerald Weapon or any of those guys..

 

Me too. I was one of those teenagers who got into JRPG's for a while because of FFVII, I did the Golden Chocobo, got KotR, used it to beat Sephiroth, but could never bring myself to fight any of the optional bosses.

 

You had 13 hours of free time in one day? Laid up with a broken leg or something?

 

Hell, when the N64 came out, I spent that afternoon, evening, all through the night and the whole next day playing MARIO 64. Had a 2 litter bottle of Dr Pepper to keep me going.

 

The newest Doom game looks good. Got Watch Dogs 2, but plagued with so many bugs. Locks up after about 20-30 minutes.

Cannon brawl is a good time waster.

 

I just went to Ukraine to see my fiancée and I showed her a few of the games I play. She is definitely no gamer but as I showed her Alien Isolation, she was freaking out when it looked like the alien was going to get me. I even willingly attracted its attention to show her what happens, but I don't think she saw much with her hands over her face.

Gotta try that on VR.
