Owner operator with van, in southeastern Wisconsin looking to lease on to a company hauling Wisconsin loads. new year resolution is to just haul Wisconsin loads and grow a fleet with just hauling Wisconsin loads. My plates are due to renew in April so I'd like to get my own authority and make this resolution a reality by then.

Anyone care to share their suggestions on how to accomplish my goal? :)

    Thanks!

Have you thought of rail work? I was on with an outfit in Green Bay, was 90% Wisconsin loads out of Chicago. Didn't pay the best, but had my own truck, and I did ok.

Yeah thought about it. Did a week of training. Didn't like it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Not a lot of van work in Wisconsin. You're competing with some big names in van work. ( Roehl, Schneider,,) Lot of those loads dried up when the paper industry went kaput. I hauled a lot of paper, just intrastate.( rolls and finished product) Manufacturing too, WAY down from the 80's and 90's in my heyday. So many plant closings, especially in N. Wis. Wood is still pretty big up here, but you'd need a stick wagon and always a call for reefer, but most of that is long distance. Good luck, I sold my trucks 20 years ago.
