I have a Freightliner Century Class s/t 2007 with a Detroit 60. The harness to the taillights was corroded and didn't light up correctly. After fixing them and putting them in correctly. I checked that when I take it out of reverse the reverse lights turn off. It did. The next morning because I have a habit of putting the gears in neutral the day before I went ahead and turned the key. The engine turned and made a noise. I want to say it sounded like a snap. I realized it was in reverse so I put it in neutral. I turned the engine on and everything seemed fine except the reverse lights stay on when the headlights are on. What did I break and how do I resolve this issue? Thanks in advance!

Remove the fuse for the backup lights.

Will the reverse lights work after that or do I replace it?

I'd the headlights are off will the reverse lights go out?

If you check the tail light connector(should be a 5 pin plug) make sure that pin A (red wire circuit 120B) is going to the reverse light and pin B (blk wire circuit 23A) are going to the tail lamps. Sounds like one of those circuits got installed in the wrong spot

You can also pull the reverse connector off the transmission. If they stay off with it unplugged then the reverse switch is at fault.

Where is the reverse switch on the transmission
