Worked for them twice! I agree with you on transforce giving you time off. I took off a month and came back and got back to work like nothing happened. They have contacts in all facets of trucking. I pulled flats, vans, and straight trucks.

Don't know where your at but I drove part time for a company here in OKC and I ran all the miles I could stand, good equip too! I ran when I wanted and didn't when I didn't want too, they were pretty good about it. I finally just stopped doing it and they kept calling me wanting me to come back. I'm sure it's easier for them to not have to pay all the stuff they have to pay full timers and still get their loads delivered. Sounds like there are plenty of Co's out there that will let you do that, it's a great way to go truckin IMHO.

Good luck getting back into the United States. They are going to build a wall. Hopefully, it will keep all the Swifties out.

I did that with Knight, I am doing it with Rogers.
Staying 12-15 week on , thet taking my deserved 2 days off on each week I was working.
For example I was working without hopetime for 97 days, on regular schedule 5 days off /2 off. I would have 28 days off, so what the difference instead of taking them 1 at a time i want to take whole 28...

    Crusader66 Thanks this.

I sincerely appreciate all of the information and tips that you all are providing; it gives me some leads on how to accomplish my goal. Again, I am very appreciative, and I thank you all. Please keep the information coming!!! I promise you that when I get to Machu Picchu, or the Nazca Lines, or Easter Island, I'll send you all some photos.

I agree. As long as you're on good terms with the company it shouldn't be a problem. I am taking a month myself in September and into October for my honeymoon in Costa Rica and I've only been with this company a little more than a year. But, I run hard, do my job and don't complain. When I told them I needed an extended period of time off, they said no problem. Makes me want to work even harder for outfits like that.

    28 and Crusader66 Thank this.

Suggest you watch the Ancient Aliens series before heading south. Some of the places they go to I would really like to visit.

I was going to chime in, she's right they will. Actually I think most of the bigger companies do. Also don't approach with that on an interview. Wait until you've gotten the job and then do it. As long as you do as you are and find out who allows that you will be okay.

I lived in Mexico twice, once for only 6 months. The next time over a year. Make sure you for your i's and cross your t's. Where ever you stay don't pay for it like a touiress. I'm on my cell and it won't let me fix the spelling... Sorry. Good luck.

I usually take Christmas to beginning of March off. I worked the holidays this year and got home 2 weeks ago. Will go back beginning of March. I run entertainment and am on the road rest of the year. Lotta guys in this do the same. Have a buddy at a different company takes 3 months in Cuba thru the winter months..
