IF ANYONE IS WORKING FOR AGS TRUCKING, AMERICAN SERVICE GROUP OR L&S TRUCK SERVICES out of NJ --- RUN !!!!!
They are running an illegal scam. Double Brokering. Skimming money off the top and screwing drivers left and right.
the game they are playing is they are booking loads under either American Service Group or L&S Truck Service and then flipping them over to AGS Trucking (DOUBLE Broker) . then they skim an amount off the top first and then give them out the Owner Operators that are working for them and charge a 10% fee on top of what they skimmed.
it is illegal to Double Broker. they rent you a trailer without insurance on it, so if anything happens you a fully responsible for the loss. being its Double Brokered, your insurance may not cover you. they are controlling your money and will hold back what ever, whenever they want. and when its found out what they are doing, you won't get paid.
Don't go anywhere near any these companies !!!!

You are supposed to carry trailer insurance. Especially if you are pulling someone else's trailer.
nightgunner and Broke Down 69 Thank this. -
I happen to carry non-owned, been doing this too long. So i know better and you know better, but my point is the other OOs, may not know better and they don't ask or inform.
So the end result would be ,..... YOUR SCREWED -
Well, if you know better, then why.....oh never mind.
nightgunner, loose_leafs, Dryver and 1 other person Thank this. -
are simply not reading it correctly or reading to much into it

Depending on how they structured the companies what they are doing may be legal. It is not within the same company, maybe the same owners group, but not the same company. I know of other groups doing the same thing.

If a Load is booked under one MC#, Carrier. the broker expects as well as the contract states, that the truck picking up that load has the same MC# that the load was booked under.
If the load is then flipped to a broker, sister company or not and resold to another Carrier and they pick it up, then that is Double Brokering, Period. it is not legal in any way shape of form.
I believe the only way your thinking of it is if a company takes the load direct from a customer with the understanding that they may put it on their truck or broker out the overflow.
but if it came from a broker to a carrier and then flipped to another broker who sells it to another carrier, that is Double Brokering and voids all agreements. -
Eastern European scam?

Might want to read a bit about co-brokering and double brokering before claiming it's illegal. Hint, it's not. Well not if it isn't done to hide other illegal activities.
