Fifth Wheel Transportation ??

I was leased to them. Honestly they weren't bad in the way you had the opportunity to choose what loads you wanted. Nothing was forced. Problem I had was you had to pay to get paid and also required tracking numbers via fed ex or ups for pay so have to pay that also for pay. Left them in December and still fighting to get my last check from beginning of December and my escrow. The contract states 14 days for check and 45 for escrow.

 

Don't lease to them. They will not pay you your last weeks settlement and will keep your escrow. Can take to small claims court and they will keep postponing and you will end up in a loss to get the money they owe you. Worthless company

 

Why did you leave them?

 

Falling rates, tired of paying to get my paycheck at $10 a month, yes they charge for direct deposit. Tired of paying credit at the pump rather than getting a discount. No I didn't have the privilege of having my own fuel card. Was working toward it.

 

Stay far away from this company. They are very dishonest and crooked .BOB and Kerri both are disposable people .they are liars and thief's. They will not pay you they old money and make up false statements even went as far as making a false invoice as a broker to act like a load was back charged so they stole 1250 dollars from me .also had 2 tires replaced on thier lease trailer which you pay 8 cents a mile for .kerri said pay for it with company card. It was 866 dollars. They held that from me and still haven't paid. .they owe me over 2200 not including my maintenance account and escrow. These people are crooks and are worthless. .I canceled my contract and told them I would bring trailer back to them .they refused said they would report trailer stolen .now they have lied about a long list of things on my DAC report. Needless to say they have a hefty lawsuit placed against them now. Stay away

 

For the people that have a problem receiving final settlement and escrow, have you had any success fighting them? Look like we are in the same boat. All paperwork was submitted and all of their property was returned, but all communication stopped about getting final payment. The work side of it was ok, but dealing with the wife Kerri is a complete nightmare. 45 days is up and she making excuses for the payment not to be released. Any advice on your actions that would be helpful. Willing to do whatever fighting I need to with them because this seems like the norm and unfair to o/o.

 

We had a trailer leased on with 5th wheel transportation. Would NOT recommend them! We fulfilled our contract with them, got a clean inspection by THEIR INSPECTOR, with new tires on it. We have gotten a run around for 3 weeks on getting our escrow payment back. With their own inspector giving it pass inspection Bob came back and stated tires were all bad and charged us an outlandish fee for the tires...THAT WERE NOT BAD! We have heard of other people having the same bad outcome with this company...be very cautious!!

 

All I can tell is how I was treated by them. I ran for them for a few months and would not recommend running for them. They claim in orientation that their goal is to average 4500 gross a week per truck, over my time there I believe this was accomplished twice, most weeks were under 3000 gross. During the three + months I was there I went trough 4 dispatchers ( not at my request, do to them quitting). Most of there loads were between $1.30 to $1.80 a mile this was at the last quarter of 2016. This is the rate before they take there cut. I had 1 ticket I received that was for brake alignment, they have the frame of thought that the ticket is not enough punishment, they charge an additional $300 that goes in their pocket. In December now on the verge of bankruptcy, I quit and sold my equipment and went back to company driver. Expecting to receive my escrow back as the told me from the start. First they tell me it will take up to 45 days to receive it about a month lateri get a call from them saying in order to get it I must make some corrections on my logbook (electronic logs on an appointment your phone), so I tried to fix them, the app tells me I can not make corrections after 14 days so, I tried to call them multiple times finally I got ahold of them. I told them the situation and the said it is in the contract that I have to have that fixed, I told the again that it can only be fixed by the administrator of the account (them). They told me then there nothing they can do, I asked if I am going to have to sue, they said yes. Take from this what you will, I would never do business with them again.

 

The smaller the outfit buddy the less chance your going to have that someone has heard of it check out some of the other posts about companies eg "most asked questions for o/o" in the owner operator section. Be careful and do your due diligence remember "if it sounds to good to be true it probably isn't"
