Holy heck there's a T/A in DOWNTOWN Nashville?!?

I doubt it. I left Effingham T/A around 9 am and weaseled my way over to the local mall to catch a matinee. Then I took back roads all afternoon over Evansville IN. where I went walking around the river front and historic district.

Then I hopped down into KY and grabbed a spot in the fishhook near the TN line. I wasn't much looking at other trucks all day.

I'm more angry at the broker for booking a 500 mile run across 3 days. I got loaded by about 10 am I could have been in Nashville by 7 o'clock.

The problem is when you start playing "professional tourist" you tend to spend the money faster than you earn it. $20 admission here, $20 dinner there before you know it you've spent more than you've earned.

I'm starting to get a little jealous of the mega drivers who complain they're always running out of hours. I could go 3 weeks without a restart.

That doesn't sound good, except your rate is like $6+ per mile.

Funny. I was just in that Nashville TA last night. Got a front row seat to a couple of morons yelling and arguing all over the parking lot in front of the pumps. I never did figure out if it was a driver and his lady fighting or he didn't pay his evening companion, but it ended up with a bunch of cops and an ambulance. Entertaining way to spend my break while I waited for my relay to show up.

Just don't make the mistake of trying to get in there just before Tenn. Titan's are playing at home. Major cluster, traffic wise.

Yup,I'd hate to have been one of the insurance companies working on this issue. The article is wrong though, the Harpeth River doesn't flow there. However the Cumberland River (which overflow its banks and less than 1/4 miles from the truck stop)flows right through the heart of Nashville.

That place used to be a real dive. They have cleaned it up a lot. I've stopped in there a few times. Safe for the most part.
