My c model has a old style damper on it that I can see wobble while the engine is running. I have a used CAT #7e9520 damper with plate that I am curious to know will fit on this 3zj 3406c. The damper is off the 5ek 3406e I used to own. If looks like the aftermarket dampers that fit all 3406/c15 engines
3406E vs C vibration damper

Will it fit, yes it will.
Would i use a 20 year old used damper on my engine.
Nope.
Just put a new viscous style damper on your C. Last time i checked $600 was it.
I would not chance a old used 20 year old damper on your engine. For all you know the liquid inside the damper could be hard.Gambino1994, snowman_w900 and SAR Thank this. -

A used damper to replace a used damper. I don't think so. I have an old 2 piece off a 3ZJ. I changed it because it was old. If anybody wants it just pay the shipping and it is yours. No warranty, expressed, implied, unwritten or thought by you to exist.
