He not only faces stiff fines, and jail time, but he will never be able to drive a commercial vehicle again.
A similar situation happened to a driver at the company I use to drive for.
The guy like to have a couple beers every night after parking. One day he forgot to get rid of the beer cans and the next morning he got pulled in at the scale for a level 1. Pulled in the bay, opened the door, and guess what fell out right in front of the DOT officer. You guessed it. 25 years of driving gone. He was arrested, truck impounded, and he received two counts of open container.
