The Ecopure , is a over priced bypass oil filter. But a bypass filter is not a bad idea, even if you do not care to run extended drains. But there were bypass filters long before KR.

Want to see what that Evans coolant does to engine.
LoJackDatHo, Lone Ranger 13 and Socal Xpress Thank this. -
I have some new thoughts on this setup. I was reading a thread from a guy who wants to spec for on and off road heavy haul. One of the posters was talking about his 2,200 lb transmission, engine and Lipe clutch. It seems to me, from what I've read, that Lipe makes an outstanding HIGH TORQUE clutch, but really is overkill for factory DDEC IV 12.7. They seemed to be throwing everything on, including the kitchen sink when many OEM components would have been a better fit.
My new truck has a DDEC III in it. It has an engine data plaque on the dash which reads;
Max torque 1200 rpm
Min hard pull 1400 rpm
Max boost 30 psi
Max fuel economy 1600 rpm
I don't think a DDEC IV is that much different, but Jeff was fighting this engine to get mileage, instead of working with it.spyder7723 and wore out Thank this. -

What year is your truck a 1999 ?

You can't put an rpm number and say it's "best fuel economy". To many factors at play for that. But the one constant is, lower the turbo boost greater the fuel economy. One day pulling heavy against the wind that might be 1600 rpm. The next running flat ground with 2k lbs on the deck and no wind, it might be 1250. With my ddec iv and the roads and loads i pull its usually just a tad over 1400. -
