At first I was. But once I understood what it was, what things could cause it and how they could tell without me wasting hours at the shop I took a different view.

Ya. But for 150 grand id expect it to go atleast 5 years before a code pops up. That kind of money should get better quality.
-
Well I never got an actual code and what did trigger just was a sign that it might need a tune up which I already had an appointment for.

CJ? Is it a new Volvo 780? We heard from some friends of ours that it is very common to have to change a lot of sensors the first year. Hopefully that is not true and they just had bad luck.

I was surprised that was the only problem I had out of that truck in 120k miles.
I don't mind the truck I have now buy I have thought about finding an older 12.7 & 13 speed & put in it in the future. Not sure if it would be worth it though since I'm sure I'll have to change a bunch of stuff, including rear gears. -
LOL. I said I would buy a Volvo! Sorry, I meant I would NOT buy one.
spyder7723 Thanks this. -

They scared us away from buying one too, (a Volvo) although they sure are purrrrty and spacious. My husband was talking about a Western Star. We're not sure, though, as FL is coming out with a nice truck this year that seems promising (the 2018 Cascadia). We may just keep our current truck for another year or two and then decide.
