Big Orange must have seen how summer was gonna be, I've been through training and in my own Roehl truck for 5 months now, but back in april I was sent a letter from Schneider regarding my application that they were currently only accepting people with 6+ months experience OR people going to THEIR school. That's basically what my turn down letter said.

More, I'd think it'd be an information letter, advising you that,
at that time, you didn't meet their qualifications.
Meet their qualification requirements and reapply.

Im the same way now.....I was picky at first when I decided to return to driving but realized there were slim pickins. I had a list of companies that Ive talked to and redused it down to one or two.
Oh and when I asked the recruiter that question....he simply laughed a bit and said "Yeah man Im really sorry but thats really all were hiring for right now." Since my reasoning for jumping back into a truck is so I can relocate away from the gulf coast so I can take FEMA off speed dial, he suggested I move to Memphis and he could work me in... -
Greetings. This morning in the Racine Wisconsin newspaper there is a hiring ad for Schneider. It's for Home Run and Dedicated positions. I emailed Schneider friday morning but I've heard nothing from them. They sent me an application a while back when I was still working at Chrysler. I was thinking of sending it in tomorrow. I think I'll go fire up one of our GoldWings and go for a ride. That always seems to cheer me up.

I'm in Green Bau STA right now. We have 36 in our class from all over the midwest, some even from Kansas. They still seem to be looking for drivers. Get back to me & I'll be happy to get more details for you.
DOTRA Thanks this. -

You will all have to understand that Schneider has to be very careful, (like any other carrier), on who they hire, and they do extensive background checks. You pretty much have to be clean, there are exceptions, though, but few and far between.
Right now, every trucking company is going through an overhaul, and right now as of today there is over 2,000 trucking that has declared backruptcy.
Schneider is working for us drivers to keep us moving and to keep the business thriving.
I actually had a security guard at one of our most important shipper ask me, "How fast do your trucks run?" I answered, "This truck runs 65, and gets 6-8.5mpg". He didn't have a clue as to what the mpg meant.
He then said, "Geesh, no way would I want to run just 65 mph, especially in an Orange truck."
I then answered, and more or less asked him, "It all comes down to: Are your wheels turning, (are you making the miles per week), and do you get paid every week for the loads you run and deliver? Who would actually care how fast your truck is running when you can make $300 - $600 more per week.
To run out here in today's economic problem, you really have to watch everything to save the company money. Where do you think our bonuses, and our raises come from, when the company makes MORE money, they have onloy one place to put it, raises, more jobs, etc etc.... only common sense, (Something NObama, and the Democrates don't have, whoops, did I say that)...
This is a company with no hassles. I am actually proud to work for Schneider and I can laugh myself to the bank every day. I am not saying there is no other company out here that does this, but there isn't many.
There is too many companies out there that will lie right to your face to keep what you have done. I have worked for 8 other companies and they all have had problems with paying me, even though I would have PROOF, and have to wait for weeks to get paid, and was tired of sitting around not getting paid layover, like US Xpress, they start their layover on the 24th or 26th hour, and then they would decide to give you a load on the 23rd hr to pick up within 24 hrs just so they didn't have to pay layover.
Patience is the key, and if you keep prying, they will eventually get you to work for Schneider. They are in the process of changing a few things around, and this is only to better the company to stay where they are. Hang in there, even though they are not hiring in a certain area right now, or training new drivers in a certain area, they eventually will when the economy starts picking up.
Good Luck
CJTexas-Nana, DOTRA and Baack Thank this.
