I have just passed my 6 month experience mark in January.

Looking for a company in the southern half of the lower peninsula in Michigan. I'm willing to relocate anywhere in that area for the right company.

Im currently OTR and hardly ever take Hometime (by my own personal choice). I've been going for 5 months now without going home.

If possible, I'd like the flexibility to be home 2+ times a week (I don't care if it's the weekend or not) with maybe the occasional longer trips OTR.

Only being home on weekends and gone all week I think may be too much. But doing that occasionally would be great.

I don't mind working hard, loading/unloading/etc. it's the work/life flexibility I really care about moving forward.

Is this possible with my experience? I'm looking for companies I can research. I am in no hurry to leave my current company.

Edit: noteworthy: I have hazmat and I've only hauled reefer. I have a passport and willing to go to Canada.

Did you ask @Chinatown ??? Also, there's a company here in Ohio that hauls corrugated in vans in the vicinity, but their HQ is in Chicago. Called Fab Express. Mostly daycabs, I think. Not sure if they run Michigan, but I believe they do.

    Zata40 Thanks this.

NTBs equipment is a step back from your current companies equipment but that may not matter to you. They do a lot of Meijer loads so you should get home more often. Garner trucking in Ohio might have a schedule that will work for you and their equipment looks to be well maintained.

    G13Tomcat and Zata40 Thank this.

Zellertrans.com is a solid choice in your hiring area. Pays around 50 cpm after bonuses.

Look into the LTL carriers too if you are okay with possibly taking a pay cut for now and a bigger paycheck after a few years.

Their website says they're based in Hartford, WI and require 3 years experience. o_O

Whoops, saw you only had 6 months in. Even based out of Wisconsin, they go to Michigan a ton.
