Planning a May cruise to Alaska from Vancouver. Appreciate advice on parking my tractor trailer while on cruise. Thanks!

None of us can afford the time off to take a cruise!
I assume you're planning on getting a load to Vancouver and then parking for a week or two? I'm not from the west, but maybe rent a parking space off a dealer or shipping yard perhaps? -
Vancouver is to Canada as San Francisco is to the U.S. That is to say; not really truck-friendly. If you download the TruckerPath app you will see what I am talking about. Parking is at a premium in the lower mainland and secure truck parking for a couple of weeks is pretty much non-existent. I would contact some trucking companies and ask if you can park (and pay?) in their yard. Alternatively, you might be able to find something at an RV storage lot.

Park outside the city. Pay for a month's secure parking somewhere. That's the same price as a week somewhere close / to the city.
Next simply pay someone or get a cab to PortVan.
I think if you Google the above info, you'll find it cheaper, and even If not cheaper, then at least the stress factor of driving and parking a big truck on / near PortVan won't be there.

Impark has a (seasonal) RV parking lot right beside the Canada Place cruise terminal in Vancouver. The Ballantyne cruise terminal is a 10 minute cab ride away. There is also a (free) truck holding lot beside the Canada Place cruise terminal (beside Crab Park) but it is not secure parking (super high theft at night). Otherwise if you are already on the US side there is a little truck parking in Blaine, Washington, where you can catch the Greyhound to Vancouver.
Vancouver is not a truck parking area. Vancouver has the most expensive real estate in Canada.Last edited: Mar 4, 2017
