There was only one owner when the site first started man. I understand it's hard to believe since so many people do nothing in life but those who chase success will eventually run into it. I may just buy an RV and pay to travel the US. That why the truck dry van pay isn't all that important to me but I figure I might as well try to get the best bang for the buck if I do it with trucking instead.
Without giving away any secrets, how to find loads

Sorry dude your story has a hole in it, think about these names - LaFrance, Smith, Boyd.
spyder7723 Thanks this. -
@Ridgeline ...#### bruh, u do some python?
me too...Im more like a baby python.
I came from sprinklings of VB, major dose of SAS world...and SAS is being killed by R-stat & python open source
15yrs ago, I touched some MVS cobol.... -
So far I'm just playing with an idea for a thermostat replacement, I've got a GE smart thermostat that I hate, it is narrow in its functions and doesn't adjust the humidity, so I end up on cold days condisation. So the raspberry pi is perfect for that, and it is coming along.
I also have a software define radio I am putting together, it uses python for some of its calls to the FPGA in the radio. That's a long term project.
I know about SAS, my job among other things was to plan and manage development environments for the site, so we had an SAS group that worked with the stat people and I had to know what they were talking about. I helped them setup virtual machines for evaluating R which at the time wasn't stable enough for certification so it just was played with.
Y2k was my last cobol work, I don't even remember anything about it. I also knew a bunch of others, like VB and .Net. I still use SQL a lot with php, which is my favorite.
Programming and IT was my fall back between consulting and other jobs, I never sat in one place for long but crap I made good money having fun. -
Wow...we are so much alike....its not even funny.
Y2K was my trial by fire...as I was just breaking into IT....in MVS/JCL/COBOL
R has come a long way....and its seriously chipping away at SAS
I've been dabling with Raspberry Pi...tryna get my son to be interested...but seem's I'm more of a nerd than he is wrt to tech....smdh. He's interested in hard sciences than tech.
SAS/SQL was my mainstay for over 10yrs...but You know how it goes....once salary hits a certain #...you cost too much and there's cheaper kids around. Plus the burnout does not help either. I still put my SQL skills to use on mySQL. I do analytics for my business in mySQL for trends and reports. Helps me be aware of whats going on for up to the minute. -

@Ridgeline @nax
You guys are where I always wanted to be. I just never got the hang of coding. It really bummed me out. Fortran is still around/used? Weren't the IBM's of the 60's programmed with Fortran? -
Yes Fortran is still around, it actually due for an update of sorts next year. I know one guy who still programs in it, he works at a company that specializes in legacy systems, and he is busy all the time. He is really old, I think he celebrated his 80th birthday a few weeks back.
Yes IBM used it, I learn it on a punch card IBM before I moved to a Litton Monroe 73.swaggerjacker Thanks this. -
I'm same with Ridgeline....that ish dont come easy....Lot's of caffeine & overnighters
And I was not even a CS major...so I self-taught in VB...all while pursuing undergrad in econ/acct & stats.
All the other stuff was learned "on the job" as I'm a quick learner...and was hungry.
I wonder if I can ever go back to I.T/Analytics sometimes.... I look back and while I enjoyed the results, I became jaded due to constant office politics, and constant re-orgs as ego's tried to grow their fief-doms. A lot of energy was expended trying to figure out who was gonna be the next project lead/manager...and which goal will be prioritized, and how my work fit within that ever chaning goal posts as quarterly vision got re-stated....smdh
Money was good tho....but the drama that came with it....oy!swaggerjacker Thanks this. -
Hey nax were you ever in a position where you applied to a new contract and was interviewed by one of the programmers to test your knowledge since the boss had no idea about technology, and when the young guy interviewing you realized that you are way more qualified than him he didn't recommend you? I could see the guy getting nervous as hell that he would be replaced LOL
swaggerjacker Thanks this.
