Thank you! And yes, I agree - you are completely right... and we are beating a dead horse.

I ask because I want to know if there are any other companies that offer (more than) what my company offers / guarantees in pay and time off. I haven't been able to find any (although Black Horse might be a possibility).

Overall I'm happy where I'm at... but there are times when I'm not so happy... and it makes me wonder if there isn't something else out there, that might be better (same as everyone I suppose). So... since I like what the company offers, I wondered if there are any other companies that had a similar deal with more money?

As you said - it seems obvious.
So... this thread is now dead - unless or until someone can provide the name of another company?!

Assuming you run 2200 miles sounds like you are making around .46 cents per mile and home on weekends.

Depends what you value. You could make more from what I see but is an extra 500 bucks a month running OTR worth not being home on weekends.

Like others sound. It's not all about the money

While my company doesn't guarantee a salary in any way, I've beat 55k pretty easily each of the 5 full years I've been here. Get home when I want or need to be. Drive a pretty nice well maintained truck with APU, refrigerator, and inverter all provided. Oh, they don't mess with my pay and taxes by playing that shell game thing trucking companies call "per diem pay". Not trying to be rude, but yeah, my unnamed company beats your unnamed company.

If you can spend time when you sit productively then I guess it's an OK deal.I guess it all depends on where you live.I live in Chicagoland and could make $180 a day and be home every night. While my current job doesn't guarantee anything and lately I had couple of weeks when I made under $1000 I also worked only 3-4 days to make that.
So let's compare again, left Chicago Sunday morning after being home for 40 h.On Sunday made $350 ,yesterday $320,plan for today at least $300.Will be back to Chicago Wednesday noon so I will make $1100 in 3.5 days. And on top of it, I am a cheap East European immigrant. Some on this forum say that you can get 3 immigrant drivers for the price of 1 American driver that means you should be making $900 A DAY.

I work for a union company, I'm home every night, my insurance for me AND my family is 100% company paid, and if I only made $1000 in a week that would mean I took a couple days off. I sleep less now than when I was OTR, which was more than a decade ago. In the summer an hour of my 10 hour break gets eaten up by commuting to/from work. Also in the summer I'm usually working one of my days off. I usually don't want to work my day off but there are times when I do. Like holidays that fall on a Sunday.

If you want to make more you should be prepared to do more. Prosperity is not always easy. Unless you win the lottery.

If that guarantee means he never makes any more then 1000 a week , it most be worth it to him . But a guarantee to me to be worth it needs to be 2000.

I am blessed to have the best of both worlds I guess. I average $12- $1300 a week bring home, and home every Friday. And don't leave back out till 05:00 Monday morning, and have the job satisfaction part as well. $1000.00 / wk gross seems low to me now....But I never forget where I come from with the $50k year jobs I once had. The good Lord gives and the good Lord can take it away. But it took 26 years to find the job I have now.

Dedicated route, home every Friday, best benifits on the road. 10 paid personal days a year, bought back from you what you don't use at the end of the year. Matching 401k. Complete free doctor's office/ clinic on site. Paid vacation every six months. The list goes on and on. So to the OP or anyone else. $1000/wk (50k) yr. Is so 1990

No disrespect intended @ all outdoorsman but it IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!!!. I wouldn't be out here if it wasn't for the money. But the job satisfaction part does come into play also. I have no other reason in this whole world to want to be away from family and friends , miss fishing trips with friends , and a whole list of other things we all miss out on If it weren't for the money..... I'm sorry I don't like driving that well to be just doing it because I like it. So it twurks me to hear someone say " it's not just about the money "
