I quit my job in January and haven't found what I want until yesterday.

It's a long distance haul to SoCal then back the Louisville. Lots f miles and 3-4 days off when I get home.

He's an O/O with 5 trucks. He emailed me the job app, but included a W9. This left me a bit disappointed.

Considering the miles involved (4000+ per week), I'm trying to determine if this is worth it.

Should I start an S Corp and pay myself and file quarterly or just forget the whole thing?
He's paying .27 + .11 per diem + .03 per month bonus if I drive 10,000 per month with all good inspections, no tickets, no accidents.

My reaction is to run away, but I love driving out West with all those miles.

    What do you guys think?

27 cents a mile , no employee bebefits ( insurance 401k, vacation , pto ) I wouldn't even be considering a job like hell even the worst bottom feeders pay better than that

I'm not sure what he means with the .11per mile per diem. I haven't seen that before.

.11 perdiem is 600 miles one day = 66 dollars. Why should HE claim that money against HIS taxes? You refuse the per diem and CLAIM it YOURSELF against your taxes. if you are out 300 days it's goiing to be close to 13500 deducting your taxes. Isnt that good MONEY? It's your money.

.27? In 1987 that would be good pay. This is freaking 2016 People START at .50 running for Slub corp. What ARE You DOING? RUN away... don't work for some #### .27 Immigrants get that Not you. Say NO and demand better pay. You are a professional driver right?

You typed... reaction to run away.. guess what, I shove you in that direction, you better run away because my next move is to slap some sense into you virtually.

Your second reaction is OOOO look at the miles... Im thinking OOOO my aching back for 250 dollars net after deductions... are you crazy? RUN AWAY.

Wow I wish I would have the nerve to screw drivers like this.

    RUN.

If you want to know why, any contract you have with any owner that has a "if you do this many miles, you get this rate ... " offer, it is cheating the driver.

Per diem, on a 1099? It doesn't add up. Run, don't walk, away from this guy.

Run. As a 1099 contractor you have to pay both your social security as well as the company (you are the company) matching amount. In essence, you will be buying you job. If the money were a LOT better the 1099 could be ok, but not this one.

That's reasonable if I can get 3000k+ miles a week.

It's difficult to find a job I want.
