My boss bought me two new sets of Pewag chains, after hanging them, I was perusing the paperwork included with the chains. One item included was the Instructions for Use pamphlet, after reading the Instructions, I came across Line 18.........hmm, right there, in black and white, I wonder if this will work next time the chain law is up? I plan to keep this in the truck, next time the chain law is up, I will explain to them that the chain manufacturer does not allow them to get wet or under chemical influence, therefore I can not chain up.

I wonder if this will get me out of chaining?

LEO: "Go purchase chains that comply with the law. Here's your ticket. Have a nice day."
Crude Truckin', Lepton1, okiedokie and 2 others Thank this. -
You will be written a ticket for being safe unfortunately.
You know the consequences that could happen if those chains come in contact with moisture and chemicals but alas the law does not care and only wants their piece of the pie.
I'm sorry dear friend but you will be handed a citation for trying to save lives. -
What is bad is when you have to chain up to just get into a truckstop.
passingthru69 Thanks this. -
Got to be the dumbest reasoning I've heard this year.
You are kidding, right?
Dude, they are going to look at you and tell you either chain up or be put out of service.
I too have Pewag chains on my trucks, they hang on chain racks until summer, then oiled and stored. I also used them when I was working as a temp driver, carried all kinds of stuff with me in case a customer didn't have the right equipment and I had a few Pewag chains in the box.
AND I had one customer who used those chains in an aluminum foundry where it was exposed to acid and flux and other chemicals, they used them to flip boxes that were the size of vans with those chains.
so that's not going to fly with any enforcement officer. -
I really think the OP was joking...
