My memory fails me... Do we get a layover day if our hometime was scheduled to end today, but they don't have a load for us until tomorrow? This has happened to me twice in a row - the last time I didn't question it, but now... I try to get as many miles a month as possible, so I hate to have a wasted day (even though at home) since I've already accomplished everything I'd needed to do. Or am I looking a gift horse in the mouth?o_O

Know plenty of guys who work down there, new and old. They don't get the miles other DCs do, but they get more activity pay/stop pay. That's where the $$ is. I run plenty of Sterling, Illinois and when I do those tend to be my biggest $$ weeks with running lesser miles. Crete, Swift, CRE drivers get paid by their companies and are not paid the same as a Walmart driver, we get significantly more. I don't know who you talked to down there, but nobody is leaving unless they retire or get fired. They rarely hire. Lots of guys transfer in. I guess the asking questions about companies face to face stuff didn't quite work out too well on your last 2 jobs. Might want to try a new approach or ask some different questions about companies you are interested in. Magnum seems like a good company if you can learn to work their system and respect their company culture. Have a great day and good luck.

24 hrs without a dispatched load is a layover day.

If you're sleeping in the truck ready to go, I'd push the issue. If you're still sitting on the couch drinking beer, I'd let it go and count your blessings.

This happens to me all the time and I have gotten the layover while still at home but the last time it happened which was last month I was told they only give you layover if it's 2 days without a load while you're at home. Ask if you want, the worst they can say is no.

Avoid the N. Little Rock Pilot for a while (more than usual). They're going thru a remodel, the boys room is a trailer beside the fuel island. Didn't go inside to see if the showers are part of it too or not, but they usually do all of it at once. At 1145 a.m. there were 4 people waiting for showers with the lot less than 1/2 way full.

Delivered at 0500 this morning in Kent, WA. Snoqualmie Pass is a wet, misty mess but it's over 40 degrees and traffic is moving smoothly.

I thought I messaged Matt before the weekend about getting my next load, but it slipped my mind. So I got whatever was available when he came in first thing this morning (he had Monday off). I pick up at 0900 on the 16th going to Wisconsin. So I'll be sitting at the Ellensburg Flying J for the next few days. This place has the crappiest parking lot of any Flying J I'm aware of, but there is a diner, steak house, showers and laundry here.

Kinda sucks I forgot to contact Matt earlier, but I'm only gaining like 7, 5, 9 ,1 hours over the next few days so I think a reset will be nice right now. I strongly prefer running 10-11 hour days. He usually has me preplanned 99% of the time real quick, so I guess part of me was expecting that, then I just forgot until I woke up to deliver and I was like... "wait, do I even have a preplan?"

I'll finally be taking Hometime for Easter. Last time I was on Hometime was the second week of September. There are a few things I need to get done, or else I'd be shooting for a full year if I could.
