    TRACTOR TRAILER BAN: At the Governor’s direction, all tractor trailers are banned on the New York State Thruway effective immediately.

    This includes:

    • Interstate 87 (New York City to Albany)
    • Interstate 95 (New York City to Connecticut)
    • Interstate 287 (connecting I-87 with I-95)
    • Interstate 90 (both the Berkshire Spur, which connects I-87 with the Massachusetts Turnpike, and the mainline Thruway, which runs from Albany to the Pennsylvania border through Syracuse and Buffalo)
    • Interstate 190 (connecting Buffalo with Niagara Falls)

    My company pulled all our trucks off the road yesterday and put all out bound loads on hold for the duration. Most of our customers are closed. Better to be stranded at home than some rest area in Pennsylvania or new England.

    CT & PA have issued travel bans.
    There was word circulating that NJ & MD were going to shut down shop as well.

    Like @j76ny - my outfit ordered trucks to shut it down if they're in the Northeast.

    We're supposed to get 15-22" here in Portland. Fun, fun.

    Didn't happen here, because I ran today. They had little if any snow over in Delmarva, and none in my territory. It was just too warm.

    The company did shut linehaul down in our region though. Nothing went out last night, and very little came in.

    I'm on a load delivering to Newburgh, NY tomorrow. Just happen to live off I-86 in PA. Ran back roads from Erie, PA to Bradford, PA and parked it. I'll ride this out on the couch.

    • Statewide Travel Ban Was Lifted at 5PM Tuesday evening: The statewide travel ban on all state roads that Governor Malloy implemented early this morning was lifted at 5:00 p.m. this evening. However, motorists are urged to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary as roads remain slick and black ice is expected to form overnight.
