Full for the freightliner, 30 day 50/50 match on maintenance after $100 deductible on pete. So basically none. I'm given 20mins to look the vehicle over with a gig sheet to write down visible faults on, with no driving of the vehicle. The company has 1 week to repair all faults (mechanical and body damage) before I finish O/O orientation and sign the lease contract.

Many dealerships will service the trucks and change the oil which if sent off for analysis will tell you nothing.

That's what I'm leaning towards. In all honesty that pains me to say because I've wanted a pete since I first started trucking. But that lack of a warranty and high mileage with no way of knowing how it was treated is ##### scary

Well, if the Pete was always in the shop, wouldn't have miles. Right? Just take a look at the Prostar Maxxforces they are still trying to unload.

Does Freightliner still build trucks in both Mexico and the US? Thought I read somewhere you could figure out which by one of the digits in the VIN. Seem to remember the US built ones lasting a little better than the ones put together south of the border.

Why do you only have "20 minutes to inspect....?" I wouldn't like to take that much risk on that timeframe. That doesn't make sense, and it raises a red flag, for me. The oil analysis is a useful tool. You should be able to tell a lot about the drivetrain on a test run, pulling a trailer, highway speeds, local, stop and go. I wouldn't buy a truck on the 20 minutes. Best.

20 minute walk around would be a big red flag for me.
I took my first truck for about a 45 minute test drive, let alone digging through it.

A new Cascadia is a very nice truck. And full warranty makes this a no brainer answer.

The MX will have issues. And if it was idled excessively, lots of them.

Even down time in the shop for small ticket items sucks.

And yes, the shakers built in SC are far superior to those made with burritos.

I wouldn't sign #### until I drove it and at least pulled a wagon! That's a big gamble, Just looking won't tell you if it needs major repairs! Go with the shaker man that's your safest bet!

If first digit of VIN is 1, 4 or 5 it is USA made
2 is Canada, 3 is Mexico.
