There is a company called Baxter Bailey that collects from wayward brokers, and publishes bad brokers and watch list from failing ones.

I do business with Nolan on a regular basis (my trucks typically haul 3-4 loads per week thru Nolan) and I've never had an issue. The broker that I deal with there has been nothing but professional and completely honest in all of our dealings. The only complaint that I have is that they want updates several times per day on each load (that can get mildly annoying). We do not take any advances or do quick pay, so I cannot speak to that aspect of their business.

I just had a Nolan Broker by the name of Azizi Pyron send us in for a load knowing we could only scale 41,500 and the rate confirmation sheet said 25,000. We had 142 miles of dead to pick it up. After we scaled the load weighed 42,300. When I called him he wanted the driver to take it even tho it was overweight and the shipper would not cut it. The shipper told our driver Azizi had done the same thing with a load the day before. In lost loads and deadhead miles this cost us over $2985. I was able to replace one load for $1500. He offered us $150.00 for TONU.
I was stupid and now have another load with them but different broker, I had not read this, and he was very nasty to my driver. We will never take another load from them.

I’ve also had problems with Nolan. I wasn’t working with them directly , but they were handling loads coming to our warehouse.
They would routinely lie when asked a question. One thing that comes to mind is I was waiting on a truck that was already late so I called the driver, driver said he was still over a hour out. I then called the Nolan broker to chew him out, and he tells me he just talked to the driver and he was 5 minutes out. I then proceeded to tell him that I also just spoke to the driver and he said he was over an hour away, who is lying? He hung up on me and I marked it down as another broker I’ll never deal with again.

I can say that Nolan does has it problems, if you able to get a good one, then stick with one of them. Apparently they have different locations that show the same information, and when someone bites, they on you like two broke wolves at a buffet. The problem I am seeing more with them are, these young brokers so eager to book loads and make money that they care less about what the truckers have to deal with. They tend to be very careless and you end up left out there in the wind. I suggest be very careful with them, and always follow up with there team leader, who at times aint much help either. These brokers are going to learn one day, that they will need us before we need them, because whats the purpose of getting shippers to allow them to move loads when no carriers want move for them. Truckers would have so much power, if only we stuck together more.
