@Chinatown , Not for Tankers, the otjer divisions, I dont know. I do know that they have absolutely no training program set up at all. It individual to whomever they can get to train you. They asked me and I flat out told them no, that I had no business training. All my skills, I learned from being trained at Thatcher Chemical (actually their private fleet, Thatcher Transportation) which was 2 weeks of classroom and 18-20 loads with a trainer.
Theyre nice, but only pay .40 with no bonuses. They pay 18.50 load/unload. No pay for tankwash. $18 hr for local work. $18 hr detention after 2 hours. Layover/brealdown pay, but it seems tye amount varies.
We dont have very many trucks. They say 30, but I doubt it.Chinatown Thanks this. -
Loaded yesterday in Petrolia PA and will unload tomorrow near Memphis. Got a preloaded trailer waiting for me in Memphis which will take me up to Illinois where I'll have a load taking me home. Been on the road over a month...time for a break!
scythe08 and ChicagoJohn Thank this. -
I have an off topic question. I'm going to be spending 4 or 5 months in the truck, trying to build some new accounts in Texas and Louisiana for my company. We don't have a terminal anywhere down except Utah.
When I ran for months at a time before it was with Schneider and I could park my truck at a terminal and it would be safe.
What do I do for time off now? I will most likely be in Shreveport. I don't want to leave my truck for a week at a truck stop. But my Google ## doesn't seem to be effective. Should I just plan on leaving it at a truck stop and just sabotage the heck out of it so It cant be stolen,,,,at least under its own power lol.
I would , of course , get permission from the truckstops manager. It would probably be the Petro.
Just trying to get things planned now, instead of later. -

Tank wash..... The simplest answers are the ones most often overlooked, thank you buddy. I never would have thought of that. which actually kind of digs at me, cuz the qualawash I'm going to in Houston has several companies based out of it and I still wouldn't have figured it out by myself. Lol

Loaded some 93% sulfuric and some caustic and took it down and dropped the acid in Salem and the caustic was pumped into totes down in Albany. Got back to the yard and loaded up some more caustic and 93% for tomorrow. Got stops in Portland, Bingen, WA, and two stops in Grandview, WA. Another 12+ hours.

Picked up the preloaded trailer yesterday in Memphis and delivered today just north of Effingham, Il. Dropped the dirty in Chicago, and got a pickup scheduled for tomorrow with a delivery in MA on Monday. Then I go home for a few days!
