Ok I'm actually not going to post company name yet, depends on if they pay me or not, I'm an owner operator for landstar, I've been here 3 years great company. I recently about 6 weeks ago now purchased a 2013 peterbilt 587. Love my truck. Everything is good u till march 22nd...
I was in Altoona, Iowa and a driver hit me bc he wasn't gonna wait for me to finish backing in to my spot. He cut to close and destroyed the front of my truck. Now after the next day they finally accepted responsibility for the accident, after there driver lied to them and told them I hit him, not recognize info that the officer was going to put what happened on the police report and I had some really nice guys as witnesses that watched what this guy did. So after they talked to witnesses and seen police report they finally agreed to make it right. It's been a while since this happened and I have to contact them all the time for the status of my claim and I keep getting the run around. I've been super nice and emailed them my 1099 last two years and my revenue I earned with my new truck. All my expenses for hotels and a rental car from there to home and back again. And the cost to me of repowering the load I was under. I keep getting the we don't know yet the owner and his lawyer are going over there options. I have emails from the safety department accepting responsibility, phone conversations I know were recorded unless they lose them, and to top it all of me and another driver told the officer there driver was in boxer briefs and had no shoes or socks on when he hit me. Now I asked for my rental car cost, hotels, the revenue for the load I was under plus the repower, and my down time. That's what is fair. So for all that it comes to around 25,000 dollars. They are a big company so I know that it shouldn't be a problem and I provided them with all the documentation for everything as in I didn't pull this number out of my ###. They must have a problem understanding I have a family, bills, mouths to feed and expenses that keep piling up while there trying to figure a way out of this situation. Pay me my money!!!!! I do not want to go to court over this, if I have to I will. I have a family friend who is a lawyer and will do this for me pro bono and she is good. Alright Sidney let's play ball. I haven't stated anything in this that isn't really not public record. And police report and emails corroborate everything I've said. Any advice from someone that's dealt with this?? I'm thinking of asking landstar for a loan for the repairs and using the check from my insurance company to pay my bills and expenses and stuff while I'm down. Any advice is appreciated and do yaw think I need to post this companies name here? There already on here as a bad company to drive for.
Watch out for these guys and their drivers

I'm thinking that, they halfway seem like there gonna play ball sometimes...

And once the lawyer gets involved there will be expenses from them too. Has their insurance company been involved??
-
Yup your insurance will send their lawyers after their money and sadly it will take at least one letter from your lawyer to get your money. They have had plenty of time to settle up and now its time to up your game.
flatbed85, drvrtech77 and TequilaSunrise Thank this. -
Pay for a letter. Not a retainer for trial. Not expensive and usually works like a charm.
