Second time hauling wheeled units on the deck. Waiting for the forklift to arrive at the job site to get them off.

Delivery was interesting. The customer ordered a skyjack forklift with blades that couldn't get wide enough to straddle the wheels, with blades too short to get across the frame. I ended up using a single chain point at the top. The skyjack operator held his breath with each piece, his rear wheels elevated a few times.

Good thing they just happened to have lifting points up there.

I had a similar situation last year down in TX. Loaded a tar trailer on a farm. Load was brokered as a flatbed load. Guy on the farm was surprised when I showed up with a 5ft tall deck. They though I would show up with an RGN when they ordered a flatbed. The guy didn't know there was a difference. Had to wait about an hour for him to show up. Then another hour for him to drive down to another farm and drive back with a backhoe that had forks on it.

Took me 10 minutes just to get in the gate. Was on a little 2 lane backroad with ditches on either side of the road and a 10 ft wide gate.

The backhoe could only get high enough to just barely clear the deck. He couldn't move though so I had to back under. Had to lift it with chains from above because he couldn't get under it.

If I ever get one of those again I'll probably just call and refuse the load. Was not worth all the messing around and the tar that dripped on the deck that is still partially there.

Show me an invoice marked "paid in full" and they'll be there tomorrow
