Not entirely on topic but important enough: truck drivers are supposed to be professional, therefore held to a much higher standard.

Talking about 4 wheelers in relation to driving skill and habits is like comparing the middle aged dude that logs 10 hours a year in a rented cessna 152 to a dude that flies a Boeing 777 from Miami to Berlin twice a week.

Except that in your analogy, the FAA regulates both pilots, requiring both to be federally licensed, requiring both to be medically certified, and requiring both to keep a logbook.

The private license is a joke of a requirement. When i got mine it was 25 classroom hours and 15 in the air. Or was it 15 and 25? Honestly don't remember. Also there is no age limit, i was legally allowed to fly solo before i could drive solo. But ya there is a physical, can your breathe? If so you will pass. Even the dot physical is more stringent than the private pilot physical. I do gotta fill out a log book, but it's just a record of where and when ive been. Not like a dot log with hos requirements. I could fly from alaska to Germany only stopping for fuel and b be perfectly legal, just like you can drive a car from key west to prudhoe bay alaska and never stop to sleep.
As far as federally licensed... the only difference between a pilots license and a car license is which agency gives them out. State or feds.. it's really the same.

lol, you realized that after getting a couple of tickets did you?

Your original post refers to exceeding the speed limit by even 1 mph. That's hardly racing and increasing risk of a major crash.

I caught up to someone today doing exactly the speed limit on a 2 lane I spend a good bit of time on. I usually run about 5 over the limit on this road and rarely have more than one or two vehicles anywhere near me. I caught up to this one today at a spot where I knew I wouldn't be able to pass for a good while so I paced them from far back. Before long traffic started accumulating behind me and I was now leading a pretty good sized pack.

The reason I usually go the speed I do there is to stay away from traffic which I find to be more enjoyable than being in a pack and I think there's less risk of a major crash when traffic is more spread out. Being a rock in the stream on a 2 lane is a bad idea IMO.

    To each their own though.

What a f...ed up convoluted logic. Going this route you could argue that the mother and father of the driver should be sued too. For inappropriate upbringing or spawning an individual that disrespects the speed limit signs.
I could see suing someone too, for pissing me off with their posts.
My case would be that now I am irritated and about to drive CMV while being pissed off, posing danger to the public.
Excuse me, I am in the bad mood now. My trailer is loaded with pork sausage casings and what the hell am I going to do with the trailer when it's empty? LOL
