Interesting, but not surprising. My oldest cracked his noggin when he was 9 months old, and the doctors just had us wake him up every so many hours during the night. They gave us the option of putting him in the hospital, but I figured I wasn't going to be sleeping anyway, so might as well take him home and do that.

In 1968, I got food poisoning from ham and au gratin potatoes at the company cafeteria, Phillip Carey Roofing Co., Lockland, OH. I wished that I had my stomach pumped, but now you're saying it would not have helped. I should have reported them to the health department.

Dont forget broken toes and fingers! (as long as they aren't dislocated) No joke! Stepped on a 16 penny rusted nail (it went all the way through my toe and came out the top), my foot swelled huge, had the red streaks and finally went to the doc. He gave me THE shot and antibiotics and gave me an xray but said it didnt matter if my bone was fractured in my toe...wasnt nothing they could do but splint....popsicle sticks make an excellent split, along with taping the the next finger or toe over.
BTW, if something ever impales do NOT remove it yourself!!! It could do more damage. I happened to think I stepped on a bee and lifted my foot up to only realize that my flipflop was still stuck to the 2x4 with a nail holding it there.

A cold too....my docs dont prescibe anything for a first visit. They tell you to go get OTC stuff...Sudafed, Mucinex and saline nasal spray....if you arent getting better in 2 weeks then come in for an xray to make sure you havent developed pneumonia, bronchitis or anything else serious.
