It's not the company, it's a deliberate commitment to the capture of the best parking spots in the best possible of what otherwise could be really bad in certain states. If I was in Virginia I would want to have been rolling straight since say 2 am that morning that way I can grab a nice cushy spot in a empty whites off the 205 before they really fillup and begin to fight each other for it. I would be the one parked near the front gate. Where it's really quiet compared to what is going to be happening all the 8 hours you are trying to catch some sleep with big trucks revving, jacking hissing airbrakes and rattling trying to park around you.
I usually run at night. It's 7 pm now, just getting started tonight. I happen to be meticiously following the Chinese Military situation vis a vis artillery and 200K plus called up to potntially do a soft overthrow of the current regime in North Korea. Take out the Leader and his pack of dogs seperate them pernamently from the nuclear illusion and Occupy, Feed the Norks completely and offer stability and peace the Norks will totally and completely repudite nuclear power for war in exchnage for three full meals a day and relative peace away from the constant oppresiion they are enduring now.
We live in interesting times. Mostly things happen at this time or later at night when we the USA sleeps on it's collective ###. I for one tend to keep watch against trouble I think is pending.
Do you guys all start driving at 4am?

I'm not with a mega, but I like to make sure I'm up and out of town by 6AM. For me, it's not even about parking so much as avoiding AM rush hour. Obviously, this is also influenced by when I'm scheduled to be someplace. Weather also influences this. If I know there's a blizzard or an ice storm coming, I want to be as far ahead of it as I can get.

It would be so much smarter to start at noon and park on the shoulder...
