A 34 hour weekend is a joke. That gives you just enough time to do the laundry, grocery shop, and repack for the next week of adventures.
There is no quality of life in that...

Umm....I'm pretty sure most companies in the Reading/Leesport area are a joke.
Case in point: Lehigh Cement in Evansville. I'd love to drop a nuke on that godforsaken placebottomdumpin and BigTennOTR Thank this. -
BigTennOTR Thanks this.
-
And the only home for just 34 is exaggerated. Really depends the area you run out of.BigTennOTR and Eldiablo Thank this. -
They'll hire you in a minute in Leesport... they need help so bad but the way they run out of there is so frustrating. But things are starting to change and it isn't for the best neither....
Heritage11 Thanks this. -
Ashley Furniture is just another company that has really fallen from Grace lately. The 34 hours off max is very true if you work out of Arcadia. Their trucks are nicely equipped, they used to run well into the 70 mile per hour range, they are now as slow as a Swift truck. So at least you can ride in style, albeit very very very slow.
I see no reason why a company like Ashley can not give its drivers 60 hours off on the weekend. At least for the guys who want it. For the guys that really need miles maybe they can just take their restart.classic_150 Thanks this. -
LTL side has more of a home life of course.Texas_hwy_287 Thanks this. -
But they think 34 hour restarts are cool. The PTP guy out of here was doing straight 34s on the regular. Heck it boiled my blood when they sent me to Leesport for those two weeks and I didn't get home until midnight Saturday and wanted me in Leesport by 7 PM Sunday each time...
The money is literally the only thing keeping me here, I'm sure someone from Arcadia will read this and track me down but idc, just fed-f up and ain't nothing gonna change for the better... -
The job definitely ain't perfect but then again it sure is better than the majority out there
