Rolled to St. Paul,MN. Wednesday for a delivery and then to Clear Lake, IA. for a pick up. Headed to Mt.Sterling, IL in the am after some sleeper berth time and then the weekend off. Safe miles all!

Saying a company is good before you have drove a mile is fairly retarded, something tells me your nothing but a recruiter praying on the nieve newbies,The very first question a real driver wants to know is how much per mile,at least 55 cpm,if its not that much, keep looking. followed by how fast is my truck, then how many miles, then how much hometime, but there is no such thing as home time, when you get in the truck ,thats your home, kiss your family good bye ,youll probably lose them,

dj battle, I'm not a recruiter, DOT doesn't have recruiters, they've an HR office. I came from a job of 20+ years that the corporation didn't care about their 35000 employees, you were just a clock number. DOT has a whole different value set of their employees. The pay is based on experience, .35 - .44/ mile. Regional carrier. 1800-3300 miles a week depending on job title. First year drivers can make 65-70K. A driver with ten years there is making a 100K a year. DOT has drivers who make 125K/yr. That is done by driving and throwing freight. I'm home every weekend. Truck is governed @ 68mph, 65 or under and you are paid a fuel bonus. If you make .55/mile and get 1500 miles a week that stinks. It's not about cents per mile and miles only. DOT pays you for so many things you do, not just miles driven. I'm sure there are comparable or better companies out there than DOT in people's opinions, but there are A LOT of bad companies out there. To each his own, I've 8 months of experience with DOT and I'm not looking to change employers. DOT is family owned and operates with a high degree of ethics. They value their employees and their contribution. They value their employees & family members. You asked, I answered your post accurately. Have a great day and safe miles driver.

Next time your cruzing in the right lane crawling at 64 mph and a truck goes by you at 79 miles per hour, try if you can to get the company name off the truck.i know its hard to fathom but there are tons of small companies that have fast trucks ,alot of miles and pay over 50cpm.the first rule is to never take a job out of a truckstop emploment magazine, loose leaf logs is also a sign of a good company, but if you cant change a light bulb, get the load there when its hot whinning about legal or illegal, these companies dont need you, your better off to work for a company like swift ,all the big companies are pretty much the same.Taking advice from people who have only worked for these cookie cutter companies will only get you the same results. As soon as the word dac or oreintation week gets mentioned its time to run.everyone has to get there feet wet but once you got experience start looking.bars by independent truck stops is a good place to talk to real drivers, and find these companies .There is a better life in trucking but its not for everyone
