Funny...didn't know Hyundia was building junk trucks to go alongside their junk cars...
Toomanybikes, tbac, lovesthedrive and 2 others Thank this. -
author says she was driving, then later says it was him...
how does a wheel fall off an axle? i need more details because it bothers me a lot it is that easy to lose a wheel, there should have been a bunch of stuff holding that wheel on. was something loose or broken and if so, how was this not noticed during the pretrip? if he/she was driving that slowly wouldn't the trailer be able to limp and stay upright on the remaining wheel sets and interior wheel? was the freight unbalanced? bad tandem position? how much did the article's author have to drink before writing this?
and who cares about the doors? a Swift driver could do more damage to the doors and manage to stay uprighthomeskillet and Big Don Thank this. -
If you look at the photos of the flipped truck the tire is just behind the trailer. It's possible that the tire may been either under inflated or completely flat with no air at all, which, someone previously mentioned, should've been caught on a pre-trip.
Big Don Thanks this. -
But as several others mentioned, how the hell do you turn over and then slide on your side, at 15 MPH?
Also, I never saw a Hyundai semi tractor.
I've had words with the editor before, over the wording of trucks. There are many times, that their stories leave you wondering just what the hell they are talking about.....DoneYourWay, daf105paccar and cnsper Thank this. -

You do not tip a truck over just for losing a trailer wheel. Come on now. I find that hard to believe.
But they say the trucker was drunken. Anything can happen at that point so who knows....
The rest of it I will leave on the table. The quality of reporting from people who do not know what they are talking about is hideous.rolls canardly, DoneYourWay and Big Don Thank this. -
DoneYourWay, wore out and spyder7723 Thank this.

Ok lets say for arguments sake the wheel did fall off. Maybe it took the duals of one axle off of one half of the tandems. Yet you still have another half of the other good tandem with wheels that will hold the truck upright.
Just a hunch. The reporter was drunk as well when writing the article.DoneYourWay, Big Don and Cottonmouth85 Thank this. -
He did NOT lose a wheel.
He lost a tire.
Go to the first picture in the story.
Rim is still on the trailer.
Tire is gone.rolls canardly and Toomanybikes Thank this.
