Should be only two more updates as to whether or not I'm sticking it out or packing it in.
1) JB Hunt said no. Now get this, not for the accident in July, but for the fact that JR Schugel terminated me. Hmmmm, two of the three things on my report from them are complete n utter BS, but that kept me from JB.
2) Working with Bohm Farm n Truck out of Kansas. Two companies there. I applied for the grain and non-grain hauling job. Just got off the phone with the brother of the owner. Says he's waiting on verification of employment from the three I was with and his brother will make the final decision. I was up front about every incident and he said he doesn't see a problem as long as he gets the verification back from the 3 companies that have employed me in the past. If I don't land this job, I am pulling the plug on commercial driving.
(FYI. Rowland in Dade City showed me the verification they got back. All three verified my employment and for remarks they showed 'satisfactory.'G13Tomcat, Just passing by and Heathar Thank this. -
Wade68 Thanks this.

Hope that Kansas thing works out!

Tomcat, the JHTrucking one (other half of the Bohm Farms trucking) said no. Really thought it was going to work out. However, Tony, the recruiter that works for both is really trying to do what he can for me. Told me to call Mr. Bohm directly. (He owns Bohm Farms, Bohm trucking, JH Trucking, a salvage yard and an ATV dealership in Kansas.)
Spoke with him and while the conversation was short, it puts my name in his ear and hopefully gets me one step closer. Now, while I know running for 'percentage' isn't that good of a gig, if it gets me driving again, I'll take it.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Tomcat; Just called him again. Of course, he didn't see my application and said he'd look into it. On a side note, Tony says he doesn't 'do' technology very well (still uses a flip phone, and gets highly upset when his drivers won't answer a phone. LOL.)
Well, he remembers speaking to me. I reiterated that I'm a Navy vet, former law enforcement officer (supposedly he does a lot with local Kansas leo's) and am packed and ready to go. He said he's in the office right now and will look into it.
*the squeaky door is the one that gets oiled. LOLG13Tomcat Thanks this. -
^^^^ Good moves, man. Wishing you the best~!

Side note: why do you feel running for percentage to not be a good gig? Most guys on percentage make much better money than those on mileage. At least the ones with reputable carriers that have good paying freight.
G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
