CW ...are you getting percentage or per mile pay there .... You didn't think about CFI or whatever they are calling themselves today ...?
-
North of Detroit about 80 miles.RoadRooster and Cw5110 Thank this. -
I thought about CFI as the company for me to start being owner op, but when I did research on others. I found that Their were others that had better pay and somewhat of the same benefits CFI has. Interstate pays me by percentage and I'm getting 68%. I know CFI is paying there drivers 0.97 a mile with fuel surcharge. At roughly 20 cents (it fluctuates) to make it a combine 1.17. Now to break down some numbers
Since I've been with interstate I've made an average of $3000 gross without all expenses taken out. However I don't have to run much just too make those numbers. Just last week, I only ran 2150 miles loaded and empty and grossed $3070 which brings it too $1.42 a mile before all fuel and misc expenses. I try to keep my fuel cost low by running an avg 65-70mph. This truck avg roughly 6.8-7.0mpgs if I can keep it at those speeds and depending on road terrain weight and wind conditions. Heres a better way too look at it.
With Interstate
Gross: $3070
Miles: 2150
Fuel: $790
Truck Payment: $1095/4 weeks=$275 ( I make monthly payments on my truck)
Plates, permits, Qualcomm, insurance:$118
Maintenance Escrow: $129
IFTA: $47.75
All Deductions excluding taxes. ($1360) minus that with 3070= [$1710 cleared.] Which equals too 0.80 cents a mile. Generally I put 250 in taxes away so that would bring it down too $1460. Which means I'm paying myself 0.67 a mile after all deductions. My avg right now is 0.68 cents a mile after all deductions.
With CFI since their mileage pay I would say its $1.20 cents a mile with surcharge. However if I only ran 2150 miles I would only gross $2580. With there deductions of just fuel and maintenance escrow and my truck note per week alone it would bring it $1386.
With those numbers from Interstate VS CFI, I knew i would make more here than with CFI. Granted they do pay for permits, IFTA, tolls, plates. You still have to pay a maintenance escrow and bobtail coverage insurance which could vary from company to company. Also because I have a load board and I dispatch myself. I sometimes don't have to run so hard just too make the extra $300-500 dollars depending on how I run.
Lastly I choose Interstate because they have a Freedom Board. Even though I didnt have access too it from the beginning I still was bringing home on avg $2000 a week before taxes.
I know this is a long post and I was actually doing my weekly report while i was typing and I haven't had breakfast yet lol. But just giving you guys a ballpark of what I'm making as a O/O.RoadRooster and paul_4lp Thank this. -

Sounds good CW.... I figured it was percentage and you'd do better that way ... I've been watching the Pumpkin Choice threads for a while ...they seem to do alright , but they seem to complain lately about high $$$ loads getting ?? Cancelled ?? Out of the blue ( given to company drivers perhaps ???)
Cw5110 and RoadRooster Thank this. -
